Disability Confident Employers Event
27th October 2017, 8:15 am - 10:15 amNorth West Leicestershire District Council in partnership with Job Centre Plus and Stephenson College would like to invite you to an event on raising the profile of the Disability Confident Employers Initiative which encourages companies to employ people with disabilities or health conditions. It will be a breakfast event and it is part of the Leicester Business Festival.
Obviously with such low levels of unemployment many companies are struggling to recruit staff, and by seeing the advantages of becoming a Disability Confident Employer, hopefully many more opportunities could be accessed by this group of the workforce.
Speakers include:
Bev Smith (Chief Executive of NWLDC); Anne Danvers (DWP); Nigel Leigh (Principal of Stephenson College) will give a short welcome to the companies – followed by people with disabilities speaking about the difference getting a job means and companies who have benefitted from employing people with disabilities and health conditions. Speakers will include Theresa Malcher of Marks & Spencer Distribution with the closing speech by Andrew Bridgen MP.
Bookings can be made through the Leicester business Festival website – https://lbf.ticketleap.com/open-your-eyes-to-a-pool-of-hidden-talent/ – it is a free event but spaces are limited so sign up now.
The event will start at 8.15am with refreshments, with speakers from 8.30am until 10.15am.
