VASL – Carers Card

28th April 2020

Kerry Turnbull Services Manager for Support for Carers Leicestershire at VASL is very pleased that Matt Hancock has recognised unpaid carers in his speech, when he addressed the nation. “We know how difficult and challenging life is for our carers on a day to day basis before the Coronavirus pandemic hit our shores. I do know that carers are experiencing difficulties when carrying out day to day tasks such as shopping for their cared for as they have no proof of ID. We are advising all our Carers to use your Carers Emergency Card that we issue upon registration with ourselves. Leicestershire County council and the  Leicestershire Police are also aware of our intentions.” Our telephone advice and support line is in full operation with our Carers Wellbeing Officers ready to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.
